Hello Kangaroos and Giraffes,

Phonics

Today we are looking at the letter group ‘oi’, as in boil and ‘oy’ as in toy.

Have a go at reading these sentences:

  • When we join in the boys’ play, they say we spoil it.
  • The boy was very spoilt and did not enjoy playing with the children at the park.

In your workbooks copy the sentence neatly, then, underline the ‘oi’ and ‘oy’ words.

English

We are going to be finding out about the variety of animals that live in the rainforest.

Today we would like you to find out about an amphibian that lives in the rainforest, can you remember what is special about amphibians?

Red/Possums/Blue/Green, Wombats and Koalas – In your workbooks we would like you to draw and write the name of an amphibian that lives in the rainforest. Can you find out an interesting fact about this creature?

Remember to use capital letters, full stops and finger spaces. Take care with your handwriting. Keep it on the lines.

Yellow and Crocodiles – In your workbooks we would like you to draw and write the name of an amphibian that lives in the rainforest with the help of a grown up.

Remember your letter formation.

Maths

This week we are going to be looking at repeated addition. Today we would like you to look at some groups of objects and say if they are equal. Remember equal means the same.

Red and Possums/Blue, Green, Wombats and Koalas – We have put some pictures on here. Can you discuss with a grown up if they are in equal groups. How do you know they are equal or aren’t equal?

Yellow and Crocodiles – Collect some objects from around the house and put them into equal piles. How do you know they are equal?

Challenge

Can you create your own amphibian that would live in the rainforest?

DT

What are you adding to your rainforest today? Have you put lots of tall trees in there and flowering plants?

Have a lovely day.
