Home Learning – 29.06.20

Hello Kangaroos and Giraffes,

We hope you have had a lovely weekend.

Phonics

Today we are looking at the letter group ‘ai’, as aim and ‘ay’ as in tray.

Have a go at reading these sentences:

  • Some trains stay on the platform and some trains zip away.
  • The rain seems set to stay so we must come in to play.

In your workbooks copy the sentences neatly, then, underline the ‘ai’ and ‘ay’ words.

English

We would like you to imagine that you are on holiday in the rainforest. We would like you to design a postcard and send it to your teachers. You could do this by email or send it through the post to school. Can you draw the rainforest on the front and tell us all about your adventures on the back? We would love to see them!

Geography

Continuing from last week when you allocated different rainforests, can you find out some facts about one of those rainforests?

This could be the amount of rain that falls there?

What animals live there?

Can you present the facts in an exciting way?

DT

Can you make yourself a rainforest?

Over the course of this week, we would like you to create your very own rainforest!

You could do this in lots of different ways; here are a few ideas;

  • In an empty box (like a shoe box)
  • In a tray like a sand or water tray
  • In your garden – using things that you find in the garden or on walks.
  • In your bedroom – using things from inside your house and your toys.
  • By making a den and making it look like the rainforest.

Remember that you have all week to do this!

Have a lovely day.
