Good morning Kangaroos and Giraffes,

Phonics

Today we are looking at the letter group ‘ur’, as in purse.

Have a go at reading these sentences:

  • It is my turn to hurl the hoop at Burt.
  • The turnip is stuck! It might get too big and burst.

In your workbooks copy the sentence neatly, then, underline the ‘ur’ words with ‘ur’ in.

Can you think of any more ‘ur’ words? Can you put those into a sentence?

English

On Tuesday, we asked you to draw and name some of the creatures that live on the forest floor and understory. Today we would like you to find out about the creatures that live in the canopy and emergent layers.

Red/Possums/Blue/Green, Wombats and Koalas – In your workbooks we would like you to draw and write the name of at least 3 animals that live in the canopy and 3 animals that live in the emergent layer. Remember to copy spellings carefully and take care with your handwriting making sure all the letters are the correct size.

Yellow and Crocodiles – In your workbooks we would like you to draw and write the name of 1 creature that lives on the canopy and draw and write the name of 1 creature that lives in the emergent. Copy the name carefully. Take care with your letter formation too.

Red and Possums/Blue, Green, Wombats and Koalas –

In your workbook practice writing your multiples of 10 all the way to 100. Can you go backwards too?

Yellow and Crocodiles

Can you count to 20 to a grown up and then practice your numbers 0-10 in your workbook.

DT

We would like you to have a go at creating a rainforest picture that comes alive!

Draw and colour the background first with the plants and trees, then draw and cut out the different animals that live in the different layers. Attach them to your picture using folded paper so that they jump out of your picture or make a slit in your paper and slide your pictures across to make it look like they are swimming, flying or slithering. We cannot wait to see them!

Have a lovely day in the sunshine.

Love Mrs Attwood and Mrs Eades
