Can you go on a treasure hunt and find me 3 things in your house beginning with the initial sound m?

(mat, mitten, mug, milk, mask, muffin)

Can you practice writing ‘m’, remember to form the capital letter and the lowercase letter.

Can a grown up sound out the following words- can you hear the word from the sounds?

m i l k

Maths- Shape, Space and Measure

Can you count up to 10 with Superhero Zero today?

Today we are going to be talking about height- how tall something/ someone is.

(Parents/carers can you explain that height is vertical- use your hands to model)

Start by measuring your child’s height first and ask them “do you think you are shorter or taller than me and why?” “Can you find a teddy in your house that is shorter than you?”

Use language such as ‘taller than’ and ‘shorter than’.

Can you ask your child to order 3 toys in your house by height from tallest to shortest?

Ask your child which toy is the tallest? Which is the shortest?

Make it easier– Order 2 toys by height (children can use language of ‘big’ and ‘small)

Challenge– Can your child measure how many cubes tall their toys are? What do they notice about the number of cubes? Does the tallest toy have the smallest or largest number of cubes?

Thank you
