Good morning Kangaroos and Giraffes,

We hope you have had a lovely weekend. Today is World Ocean Day so we have some activities linked to this for you today.

Phonics

Today we are looking at the letter group ‘-cks’, as in ducks.

Have a go at reading some of these words – socks, licks, tricks, bricks.

Can you read them to a grown up?

Can you write some words with ‘–cks’ in them?

Can you read your words to someone?

English

On World Oceans Day, people around the world celebrate and honour the ocean, which connects us all. The aim is for people to work together to create a better future and protect our Oceans.

We would like you to create a World Ocean Day poster, showing people why it is important to look after our oceans and the wildlife that live in them.

Art

Can you draw, paint or make your favourite creature from the ocean?

Creative Time

Could you make your own ‘ocean in a bottle’ using an empty bottle, blue food colouring and glitter, we would love to see them!

Challenge Time!

Can you find out why it is important not to leave your rubbish and litter on the beach? What could happen to the ocean and the creatures that live there if it was full of rubbish?

Have a lovely day.
