Phonics

Today we are looking at the letter group ‘igh’ as in knight and ‘ie’ as in pie.

Have a go at reading these sentences:

  • Can you tie the ribbon tight?
  • ‘’That little pie might not feed us all,’’ said Chip.

In your workbooks copy the sentence neatly, then, underline the ‘igh’ and ‘ie’ words.

On Tuesday, we asked you to draw and name an amphibian that lives in the rainforest. Today we would like you to find out about a reptile that lives in the rainforest. Can you remember what is special about reptiles?

Red/Possums/Blue/Green, Wombats and Koalas – In your workbooks we would like you to draw and write the name of a reptile that lives in the rainforest.

Remember to use capital letters, full stops and finger spaces. Take care with your handwriting. Keep it on the lines.

Yellow and Crocodiles – In your workbooks we would like you to draw and write the name of an amphibian that lives in the rainforest with the help of a grown up.

Remember your letter formation.

We are going to continue using the equal groups and arrays information today and we are going to look at repeated addition.

You can use objects to help if you necessary.
