Hello Kangaroos and Giraffes,

Phonics

Today we are looking at the letter group ‘ar’, as in arm.

Can you read these words? farmer, charm, jam jar

Can you write the words in your workbook and read them to a grown up?

English

Yesterday we asked you to make a list of the things that you might need to go on an exploring adventure. Pack your bag, we are going exploring!

We want you to imagine that you are deep inside the rainforest, you are walking very quietly, using your binoculars and spot something! It is a creature that you have never been seen before, how exciting!

In your workbooks, we would like you to draw this new and exciting creature that you have never seen before.

Red/Possums/Blue/Green, Wombats and Koalas – In your workbooks we would like you to draw what the creature looks like and label it. Use adjectives to describe it. What colour is it? Is it tiny or ginormous? How many legs does it have? Does it have a tail? Is it furry, hairy or have feathers?

Yellow and Crocodiles – In your workbooks we would like you to draw what the creature looks like and have a go at labelling it with the help of a grown up. What colour is it? Is it tiny or ginormous? How many legs does it have? Does it have a tail? Is it furry, hairy or have feathers?

Maths

We are going to continuing adding and subtracting today. Today we would like you to use a number line to help you subtract. Draw a number line or if you can print one out.

Circle the biggest number and count back how many you are taking away.

Red and Possums

We have some word problems for you to solve.

Mrs Attwood is busy making cakes. She makes 16 cakes for school but Mr Attwood eats 7 of them. How many cakes are left?

Art

This morning you went out exploring in the rainforest and found an undiscovered creature.

We would like you to have a go at painting, drawing or making a plant, flower or tree that you have also discovered while on your adventure in the rainforest.

Can you label it? Where are the roots? Does it have petals? Does it have a trunk or stem? Where are the leaves?

Have a lovely day.

From Mrs Eades and Mrs Attwood
